If you're into climbing, then we can probably make a couple of guesses about you:
1. You're a bit old school - and enjoy the hard graft element of cycling.
2. You fantasise about riding like Marco Pantani, big ringing it up Alpine climbs.
3. You obsess about every single gram on your machine - and make sure that you shave as much as possible on the bike.
So when Specialized released the Aethos - it harked back to something that's been lost in the aero road market - the weight weenie. Now - you'd think therefore that plenty of climbers would be behind this bike and backing it. For it's good looks, slimmer tubes, and 5.9kg net weight, on the face of it, it ticks all the boxes...
But there's more to this bike than meets the eye - and it's more a tale of the Cycling Industry, it's general direction and where it's leading riders. If you're on board for a bit of a story time - jump on and listen up!
